European Commission announces decision regarding competition investigation.
Today, Sanitec Europe Corporation was informed that the European Commission has adopted a decision in its administrative procedure, imposing fines on 62 companies active in the bathroom fittings and fixtures sector, including Sanitec Europe Corporation and its operational group companies Produits Céramiques de Touraine SA, Pozzi Ginori Spa, Koninklijke Sphinx BV, Allia S.A.S., Keramag Keramische Werke AG, Koralle Sanitärprodukte GmbH on the grounds that they have infringed EU competition law between years 1994 and 2004. The decision imposes a fine of 57,69 million Euro on Sanitec Europe Corporation and the above local operating companies. Sanitec Europe Corporation and its operational companies have cooperated fully with the European Commission throughout the process.
Sanitec is currently considering its response to the European Commission’s decision, including a possible appeal of the decision to the General Court of the European Union. Once it has received the full decision of the European Commission, Sanitec will review its content and take appropriate action.
