Toilet Dual Flush systems

The dual-flush mechanism gives the user the choice of a bigger or smaller flush, depending on the need for water. The toilet still contains only one cistern and the secret lies in the valve that releases only a certain quantity of water for flushing.

The amount of water previously used for each flush was as much as 10 litres. Today this is only 2-4 litres in Scandinavia, and slightly more in other European countries, as standards vary a little.

Since the dual-flush mechanism halves the amount of water needed, a family with four members can save up to 50,000 litres of fresh water a year, compared to the use of an old toilet from the 1970s.

This equals the price of a new toilet in a couple of years, depending on water prices. In public places, where toilets are used more often, the saving in water can be even greater.

All Sanitec Group companies have dual-flush toilets in their product range. In Scandinavia, the dual-flush mechanism has become the standard feature and is included in nearly all toilets.
